I see you black man

I see you black man full of pride.

Walking with your chin up, chest out, and your shoulders back.

Strong, bold, and fearless.

Your presence commands attention when you walk into the room.

You arrived here in shackles and they try to keep you in those same chains.

Afraid of your power.

You were beaten down and separated from your family.

Sold to the highest bidder.

Yet, everyday you fight for your freedom and respect.

Trying to survive in a world that thinks your worth more dead than alive.

Protecting and providing for your family is your state of mind.

When you are out there hustling and on your grind.

They see you as a hoodlum, a nigga and a thug.

When we know that, you derived from mathematicians, inventors, scientist, and kings.

Ruling as far as the eye can see.

Envied for your masculinity, strength, will power, and virility.

A complex guarded soul, hardened by the cruelties of the world.

Only exposing yourself to your queen.

I see you black man. Standing tall full of pride. I love it. I cannot lie.

Black Woman

Black Woman

Being a Black Woman is hard.

Fighting every day in a world that makes us feel less than.

Overcoming stereotypes that beat us down every time we try to get ahead.

Working 100 times harder as the next man, only to make 1/5 of the progress.

Black women are the glue that holds the family together.

Stretching to make a dollar out of 15 cents to pay our bills and feed our family.

We go without just to make sure I kids have.

In a world that kill and emasculate our men.

Stole our babies out of our arms. Never to be seen again.

Black women stand strong, with our heads held high.

Every obstacle that come our way.

We conquer it with style and grace.

The world beat us down.

However, we never falter. We come up swinging. Paving a way for our future.

They looked down upon us, yet imitate us the most.

Being a black woman is hard, but the world would never know our struggle.

Tell the truth, the black woman is the real superwoman with the world on our shoulders.
